Plan A. ..

You decide what you want and provide the copy (the words as you want them to appear on the web pages) ready to cut-and-paste into the web site. I may offer suggestions for revision of the text, but you are in charge of your web site. You write it.

You have some idea of what you want - the colors and themes or pictures you want for the site.

You might even have some idea of how you want your web site. to look (maybe a similar site that you like).

I do not own your material - unless you do not pay your bill, where some things get sticky.

Your domain is registered in your name and you can have anyone else take over the site whenever you decide. I will provide all the files for your web site. on a data CD so you can make whatever changes you want to do on your own.

Plan B

You have no idea of what you want and we play a long, drawn out game of "I don't know what I want, but that isn't it." You don't know what images or appearance you want and don't know if any of the dozens of designs are good enough.

For this you fly me to the Bahamas or Vegas and set me up in a nice motel. Nothing fancy - Super 8 will do. We consult for several weeks at $65 per hour, plus expenses for several weeks until I magically arrive at what you will accept, even though it is not what you want because you don't know what that is.

Payment is made weekly based on a 50 hour week, plus the costs of motel and meals, plus long distance phone and internet access from either location. These continue until you run out of money or accept a web design.

The Pick 2 reminder of reality may help you decide how you want to do this.

Most people prefer Plan A.

Plan A Terms

PROJECT PAYMENTS are based on three payments to Joe the Geek, and payments to the for your domain name (InterNIC) and the hosting service (1and1.com) are made directly to those companies. This keeps the domain and hosting account in your name and under your control. Payments can be made in cash, check or by credit card through PayPal.

Payments to JOE THE GEEK are 1/3 on signing, 1/3 on delivery of the first complete version for your editing and changes, and 1/3 when the site "goes live" (is published to the world on the internet).

Payment to domain registry (InterNIC) and hosting companies (1and1) are paid directly to 1and1, are non-refundable and remain in your name. At all times you run and control your domain as a piece of property. (You could even use 1and1 to create a domain without using me to build you web pages at all, but wouldn't it be more fun to deal with me?)

KILL FEES are required if you decide to stop work on the project. Kill fee is equal to the amount paid to that point. If you decide to resume the project at a later date the payment made is credited to the new billing, as if we simply paused.
